The breakfast

In the early morning, the aroma of toasted bread fills the entire house and irresistibly draws you to the dining room or the terrace where breakfast is served

The breakfast at Villa Gaia

Charming Hotel and Gardens

The day before, Anne-Françoise baked her sourdough bread and the braided bread scented with orange blossom. Less conventional but delicious, she also prepared a seeded bread with buckwheat flour and rice. All of this pairs perfectly with a selection of homemade jams, including bitter orange marmalade, green tomato jam, gingerine (a local melon), quince, as well as the traditional apricot and strawberry jams.

A breakfast to start the day off right

The homemade whole milk yogurts also have their place on the buffet, and they are deliciously complemented by Anne-Françoise’s secret Granola, sweetened only with apple juice.

For those who enjoy savory options like Georges-Eric, there’s a tasting of goat or sheep cheeses from a nearby producer. For the more adventurous, there are olives from the garden.

A bakery tradition.

Here and there, small jars of homemade anise seed biscuits, rusks made according to the family recipe of a grandfather baker in Marseille.
